Purchasing real estate is a complex and major transaction with many details to be handled. Depending on the laws in your state, and the business arrangement you have with a licensed real estate agent, that agent may actually be negotiating for the seller, not you the buyer. The best way to be certain that an agent is working in your best interest is to enlist the services of a Buyer Agent. I act exclusively as a Buyer Agent when working with potential home buyers. In addition to me representing you as Buyer Agent, my thorough approach sets me apart from other agents. I meet with my clients prior to any showings to review all the steps in buying, from pre-approval to closing. We review all pertinent paperwork and contracts, so when you are ready to make an offer, you will be confident that you understand what you are signing. During this initial consultation we will also discuss your needs and lifestyle. We review basic criteria from price range, towns, specific locations, architecture, square footage, bedrooms, baths and lot size. We also review other criteria, such as condition and desired layout of a house. My background in product design and merchandising gives me the skills to weed out the properties that just don't make sense for my clients, even though they may fit their basic criteria. This saves my clients countless hours of wasted time looking at properties that will not "work" for their needs and taste. I also have a keen eye for property potential, so if you are up for a bit of work, I can potentially find a better value for your dollar. Finally, my attention to detail and organizational skills are exceptional. I am used to 80 hour work weeks and have a sense of urgency with every client. I am very accessible, even in the late hours. So you can be rest assured, I will be available to answer your questions. |
